About our Speakers:
Ema Šimurda is one of two founders of the first vertical-farm-to-table restaurant GOOD BANK and since 2021 also of farmie, a plug & play vertical farming hardware solution.
Her award winning company GOOD BANK compresses food production with a fast casual restaurant chain and a tech company. Since 2020 GOOD BANK has also entered the direct to consumer market with a vegetable box and the retail market with their Bowl & Farm modules (Edeka and Gorillas).
As a frequently engaged speaker Ema already told GOOD BANK’s and her story at numerous conferences and events such as the Tech Open Air 2017, CES 2018 in Las Vegas and Financial Times Future of Food summit in 2020. Ema was born in Croatia and studied Economics in Vienna. She is also mum to an 11-year old daughter.
Carolin Lessoued is the Co-Founder and CEO of Openers, one of the premier boutique PR agencies in Berlin.
She studied media management with a focus on communication design and is an internationally recognized PR consultant. During her more than three years as Head of PR & Marketing at an international music startup, she not only built up teams in other countries, but was also heavily involved in the development of new products and partnerships. During this time she also worked as a freelance communication trainer and event coordinator for clients such as UNIVERSAL Music and Nissan.
In 2011, she switched sides to the agency level as a consultant, before founding Openers with Kerstin Bock; this was all done parallel to the development of the Tech Open Air. Their clients include well-known companies and investors such as Gorillas, Vinted, Atomico and Spotify.
Carolin is an active mentor and jury member for various accelerator programs and competitions, including REAKTOR.Berlin. For several years she has been investing as a business angel in young and disruptive teams and startups.
