VIVA LA GENDER: Keynote with Dr. Emilia Roig

As part of the Viva La Gender action week at Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences, Dr. Emilia Roig will present an inspiring keynote speech on the topic of “Gender-sensitive research, diversity, equal opportunities and intersectionality in STEM subjects”.
Dr. Roig will explain how gender equality and the consideration of diverse target groups in science ensure the need for skilled workers and promote equal opportunities.

Dr. Roig, a political scientist and best-selling author, brings extensive teaching and research experience in intersectionality, postcolonial studies, critical race theory, and queer feminism.
She founded the Center for Intersectional Justice (CIJ) and has received multiple awards for her work for social justice, including Ashoka Fellow and Most Influential Woman of the Year.
