LINE UP! CONFERENCE – FOR GENDER EQUALITY IN MUSIC

Gender equality is far from having arrived in all areas of the music industry. A look at the line ups of the major festivals shows that male musicians are booked significantly more often than women*. And various studies also show: The gender paygap is still an issue in the music industry, female artists* are significantly less likely to be awarded music prizes, and women* are far less represented in management positions than their male counterparts. This list could go on and on. We would like to take care of these problems and to contact the Line Up! Conference ask the question: How do we achieve a gender-equal music industry for Hannover? What structures are responsible for the current situation and what measures can we take to break through them?
